My Story

For most of my life, I had no idea I had ADHD. I just thought I wasn’t 'normal'. My brain never switched off, no matter how tired I was. I’d lie there wide awake at all hours, replaying life’s events in my head. During the day, I’d throw myself into things at 100 miles an hour… then crash hard into burnout.

I turned to food, alcohol and sleeping tablets to cope, trying to quiet my mind and keep up with life. People called me crazy,

'too' much, 'too' this, 'too' that and after a while, I started to believe it and that negative self-talk started to haunt me daily.

Since then, I’ve rebuilt my life from the ground up. I overcame addiction, lost six stone, retrained as a counsellor and CBT-I therapist, and learnt how to work with my ADHD brain instead of constantly fighting against it. These days, I’m climbing mountains! Literally! Turns out, the view’s much better up there than at rock bottom (and a great reason to eat a 4 pack of Mars bars!)

Now, I use both my professional training and my lived experience to help adults who see themselves in my story. Those battling ADHD burnout, insomnia, anxiety, and that constant sense of being 'different'.

Life can be relentless and exhausting, and sometimes you just need someone to be there for you. We can share the ups and downs, the tears and the laughter... together.
